Elizabeth Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carmichael Funeral Homes - Smyrna on Mar. 19, 2026.
Elizabeth Morgan Williams, aged 47, of Smyrna, GA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, after bravely battling cancer. She was surrounded by her family as she transitioned to heaven.

Born in Winston-Salem, NC, Elizabeth excelled academically and athletically at R.J. Reynolds High School, participating in soccer, dance, and cheerleading. Her passion for design led her to earn a B.A. in Interior Design from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. Elizabeth began her professional journey in Charleston, SC, later settling in Atlanta, GA, where she met Jacob (and their beloved puppy Murphy). The couple married in 2012 and raised two wonderful sons, Carter and Nicholas. A devoted mother, Elizabeth held her family to high standards, valuing faith, empathy, selflessness, and integrity. Among her many achievements, raising Carter and Nicholas was her greatest pride.

When free from her sons' school and sports schedules, Elizabeth cherished long weekends visiting family, walking along the coast of Emerald Isle's warm sand and breathing-in the refreshing Colorado or North Carolina mountain air. She delighted in fresh peonies, blooming hydrangeas, cheering on her boys during games, spending time with Murphy, and decorating her home. Elizabeth cheered for the North Carolina Tarheels, Kansas Jayhawks, and Atlanta Braves. Her absence is felt deeply by her loved ones, yet her memory continues to inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in all who knew her including the unwavering support and unconditional love from her beloved aunts, Barbara West (David) and Julie Sunderman (Michael).

Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband Jacob; sons Carter and Nicholas and the family dog, Murphy; mother Neta Morgan; father Chip Morgan (Kay); sister Joanna Reavis (Lee); brother Jeff Morgan (Heather); nieces and nephews Samuel, Noah, Adam, Reid, Emma, and Holden; father-in-law Meredith (Carmen) Williams; and sister-in-law Jennifer Eckert (Matt).

In lieu of flowers, contributions are welcomed at https://inheritanceofhope.org, an organization dedicated to offering hope to young families coping with the loss of a parent to terminal illness.

Visitation will be held from 5–7 pm on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna. A celebration of Elizabeth's life is scheduled for Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1 PM at Smyrna First United Methodist Church.
