Elizabeth M. Witthauer

Elizabeth Margaret "Betty" Witthauer, 82, of Hampstead, MD passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2023 at her home. Born June 18, 1941 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Genevieve (née Hamilton) Wilfer. Twice married, wife of the late Robert Norman Spencer and is survived by her husband, Gregory Anton Witthauer. Betty was a graduate of The Catholic High School of Baltimore. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as an accounting clerk for CSX Railroad. She loved playtime with her grandchildren, was an animal lover and enjoyed feeding and watching wildlife. Surviving, in addition to her husband Greg, are her daughter and son-in-law, Karen Spencer Stephens and Brian Stephens of Hampstead; granddaughter, Krystal Stephens O'Hara and her husband, Andrew O'Hara of Abingdon, MD; grandson, Brian Stephens, Jr. and his wife, Dr. April Binik Stephens of Hampstead; great-grandsons, Justin Woods of New Freedom, PA, Gaius Stephens of Hampstead, and Wyatt O'Hara of Abingdon; great-granddaughter, Elliot May Stephens of Hampstead; stepson, Gregory Witthauer, II of York, PA, and stepdaughter, Deborah Bennett of Middle River, MD. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 7, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Collin Poston officiating. Interment will be in Parkwood Cemetery in Baltimore.
