Ella Nadean Owensby Clark, 66, of Morganton, departed this life on Saturday morning, July 13, 2024 at Amorem Hospice in Valdese with her loving children by her side.
She was born in McDowell County on July 19, 1957 to the late Dorothy Mae Owensby.
Ella was a loving wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother who loved her family wholeheartedly. Her grandchildren were her world, and it brought her great joy to play with them and spend quality time together. She was a hard-working woman who loved her job and her co-workers. She took great pride in feeding the students at East McDowell Middle School and Marion Elementary School and later feeding the residents in a nursing home setting. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting, and playing cards. Ella loved cooking and canning for her family. She also was faithful to watch the Hallmark and Lifetime Channels on television. She loved her dogs, and being in the outdoors brought her great peace as well. Ella will lovingly be remembered always by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Clark; two children, Matthew Clark (Deanna Parks) and Jennifer Conley (Jeffrey); and four grandchildren, Jade O’Quinn, Audrey Conley, Harper Conley, and Waylon Conley.
A private memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service with Rev. Jeffrey Conley, Sr. officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in Ella’s memory to Amorem Hospice, 902 Kirkwood Street NW, Lenoir, NC 28645 or by visiting amoremsupport.org/donate.
