Cumberland Valley, PA- Ella Ruth Mangus, 95, of Cumberland Valley, PA, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025 at UPMC-Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Born December 11, 1929 in Altoona, PA, Ms. Mangus was the daughter of the late George William Carlheim and June Aurora (Oster) Carlheim. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Ronald Mangus; a brother: Glenn Carlheim; her daughter-in-law: Karla Steele; and a brother-in-law: Howard Dickerhoof.

Ella retired from Lions Manufacturing, Everett, PA with 31 years of service. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she taught pre-school Sunday School and was the Secretary of the United Methodist Womens' Society. Ella was a member of the Hyndman Grange and the Cumberland Valley Senior Citizens Center; and was an honorary member of the Cumberland Valley Township Volunteer Fire Department.

Ella loved watching television, knitting, quilting, going to auctions in Centerville and she also enjoyed the fire hall soup sales.

Ella is survived by her son: William "Bill" Steele; her grandson: Ivan Steele and wife Nicky; her great-grandchildren: Rebecca and Evan Steele; and her sister: M. Jane Dickerhoof.

Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD 21502 (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 1:00 P.M.

Interment will be in Fellowship Cemetery.
