Ella Susan Geter Rayburn went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 10, 2024, in Jackson, MS. She was 75 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2024, and again from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will start at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow the service at Briar Hill Cemetery in Florence, MS.
Susan was born on August 2, 1948, to Gordon Harvey Geter and Phyllis Ann Vasquez in Woodville, MS. She attended Woodville School where she was the Homecoming Queen. After High School she attended University of Southern Mississippi where she studied Elementary School Education. She married Mike Rayburn on August 7, 1991. Susan worked for BancorpSouth from 1986-2017 in the Trust Department and Management. She was a member of Briar Hill Baptist Church in Florence, MS.
Susan is survived by her husband of 32 years, Michael Rayburn of Harker Heights, TX; children, Jennifer Ann Simmons, Ralph Edward Simmons (Shawnette), Jonathan Gordon Simmons (Jennifer), Michael Odell Rayburn II (Michelle), and Daniel P. Rayburn (Nicole); grandchildren, Ashley Nichole Simmons Davis (Colton), Christopher Robinson, Jason Robinson (Sofia), Chantz Curtis, Jaxon Edward Simmons, Rozalyn Simmons, Gabrielle Simmons, Logan Rayburn, Noah Rayburn, Mackenzie Rayburn, and Mary Nell Rayburn; and one great grandchild, Ralph Davis.
