Ella F. Russell

Ella F. (Kinzer) Russell, aged 84, died on January 25, 2026. She was predeceased by her 4th son (5th child), Michael Patrick Russell on September 24, 2011.

With the full and complete cooperation of James Russell, her blind date (April 12, 1960), Ella became the matriarch of a 28-person family unit consisting of 6 children, 13 grandchildren and 8 in-laws. Her first great granddaughter is due to be born on February 15, 2026.

Ella was born on November 23, 1941 in Miamisburg, Ohio. She was raised in an environment aptly described in the book "Hillbilly Elegy". She graduated from Franklin, Ohio High School on May 26, 1959. Shortly thereafter she traveled to Cape Cod to visit her sister. Unexpectedly, she settled on Cape Cod, dated Jim and graduated from Cape Cod Secretarial School.

She married James Russell on February 3, 1962 in Ohio. For most of their marriage, she was a stay-at-home mom who devoted herself exclusively to the raising of her children. She and Jim lived in a number of communities in Eastern Massachusetts, most notably for 32 years in Concord.

She was an enthusiastic supporter of her children's athletic endeavors, serving as the President of the Concord Youth Soccer and the Concord Soccer Club in the 1980's and 1990's. When Jim announced his early retirement, she went back to work with Massachusetts Youth Soccer as the training coordinator.

In addition to her husband, Jim, Ella is survived by her sister, Bea Eaton, of Lebanon, Ohio, her son Richard Russell of Austin, TX (Susan Larson), daughter Deborah Russell of North Andover, MA, son Stephen Russell of Los Angeles, CA (Michelle Moncayo), Christopher Russell of Andover, MA (Merrilee Mardon), Shawnde Russell of Bend, OR (Jeremy MacPhearson) and Nicole Taucare of Bell Buckle, TN (Mauricio Taucare).

She was rewarded with 13 grandchildren. The first 11 were granddaughters.

Family and friends are invited to gather for Ella's Funeral Mass on Friday, February 6th at 10:30 am in St. Bernard's Church at Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square, Concord Center, followed by burial at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Concord.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the charity of one's choice.
