Ella Mae Baye Walker, a native of Lafourche Crossing and longtime resident of Bayou Vista, passed away Friday, November 29, 2024 at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center at the age of 100.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother and lovingly known as Aunt Mae. She valued her Christian faith and was a faithful member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bayou Vista where she still attended the Saturday Vigil Mass and made a weekly hour of adoration. She was known as a sweet lady and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one daughter, Judy Brannon and her husband, Roland, of Patterson; two sons, Johnny Walker, of Bayou Vista and Joe Walker and his wife, Carolyn, of Patterson; five grandchildren, Jannie Walker and partner Greg Rockenbaugh; Julie Rock and husband Bryan; Joe Walker, Jr.; Delman Tibbetts and wife, Kim; and Terri Lancon and husband, Ricky; ten great-grandchildren, Brittany Chaney and husband, Jamell: Shelby Hymel and husband, Dylan; Emily Cradeur; Tristen Rock, Kaitlyn Rock, Bryleigh Walker, Stephanie Hebert and husband, Matt; Delman James Tibbetts, Ethan Tibbetts, and Emma Tibbetts; and eight great-great grandchildren, Jadyn, Alaina, Jamell Jr, Amiya, Janell, Mia, Emmelise, and Avery.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Clarence J. Walker; parents John and Agnes Estevens Baye; daughter, ClarenceAnn Walker; sister, Velma B. Berard; and daughter-in-law, Gail Walker, brother-in-law's Jules Walker and Joe Walker; sister-in-law's, Louise Thibodeaux Mire, Emma Romero, Irene Colette and Helen Autin.
Visitation will be held Tuesday December 3rd, at Twin City Funeral Home from 8:30 am - 11:15 am. A Rosary will be said at 11:30 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 pm at St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Bayou Vista. Ella will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following Mass.
