Beverly Walker Obituary
Born in Rocky Mount, NC to the late Louis Newton Hancock and Jessie Hancock Page. Beverly led a life defined by her profound Christian faith and an unwavering love for the Lord. To those who knew her, she was a living testament to the fruits of the Spirit-kindness, patience, and a servant's heart. She didn't just speak of her faith; she lived it daily, finding strength in prayer and joy in the scriptures.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Carter Burchell, (Greg), her sister, Annette Hancock Fleming (Brent), her brother, Louis Hancock, Jr. (Nan), her sister-in-law Brenda Carter Phelps (Joey) and her cherished nieces and nephews and their children, as well as numerous cousins. She was also preceded in death by her son, Chris Carter, her first husband of 42 years, Billy Carter, her sister, Joyce Hancock Keanum, her second husband, Greg Walker; and her treasured in-laws, Willie Lee and Margaret Carter.
A celebration of Beverly's life will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Scotland Neck, 1015 Church Street, Scotland Neck, NC. Her family will receive visitors prior to the service in the church fellowship hall from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Burial will follow, attended by family.
