ENFIELD – Larry Keith Sorie, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at his home in Enfield.
Larry was born on October 9, 1946 in Nash County, NC to the late Cleveland Sorie and Carolyn M. Sorie. He farmed until 1984 and then went to work for Ewell Ford Sales from 1984 until they closed in 2000. Larry also worked with Correctional Enterprise as a warehouse manager until October 2016 when he retired. In 1990 he was elected to serve as a Town Commissioner for the Town of Enfield and was proud to serve for eight years.
Larry took great joy in spending time with his grandsons and playing with his great-granddaughter, Lainey. His favorite past time was playing golf at Scotfield Country Club with his very close friends.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sisters, Nancy Whitehurst and Vicki Gaither.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Billie Hardison Sorie; his daughter, Jamie Leigh Sorie and her fiancé William Riddick of Garysburg; his grandsons, Landen Dunn and his wife Stephanie of Lake Gaston and Braeden Goins of Garysburg; and his great-granddaughter, Lainey Dunn of Lake Gaston.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Enfield Baptist Church in Enfield. A celebration of life memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church, with Rev. Craig Gaither officiating.
