Mrs. Ellarie Wallace, age 95, of Dover, TN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Dover Care Center. She was born on October 2, 1930, in Breathitt, KY, the beloved daughter of Estil and Stella McPherson Hounshell.
Ellarie was a devoted Christian woman who gave her life to the Lord at a very young age and faithfully followed Him throughout her life. As the Lord led, she married a pastor, and together they served faithfully throughout their mission field. She also worked as a substitute teacher for many years.
Ellarie loved her family with all her heart, and caring for them brought her great joy. She especially enjoyed cooking large meals and having everyone gathered around the table, sharing laughter, telling stories, and creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Rev. Eugene Thomas Wallace; her son, Ricky Wallace; her sisters, Alma Alexander and Margie Reynolds; and her grandson, Scott Wallace.
She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Sumner (Dwayne); her son, Phillip Wallace (Deborah); her brother, Estil Hounshell; her grandchildren, Kelly Starner, Ricky Darren Wallace, Tim Wallace, Kayla Lewis, Brandon Sumner, and Mariah Dodd; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at New Hope Church of God on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., with Bro. Jay Bragdon officiating. Burial to follow at the Page Cemetery where she will be laid to rest by her husband. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
