Mr. Robert C. Nardell, fondly known as Bob, age 88, of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 19, 1937, in Houston, Texas, the beloved son of Clarence and Beulah Frier Nardell.
Bob proudly served his country for more than 26 years in the United States Navy, including service during the Vietnam War. He deeply valued his military career and often shared fond memories of his time in service with family and friends. He especially enjoyed recounting stories of playing on the Navy Championship Volleyball Team, a time he remembered with great pride.
Following his retirement from the Navy, Bob continued his strong work ethic as the owner and mechanic of A&S Repair for over 10 years. He also worked for Gary Matthews, NAPA Auto Parts and O'Reilly Auto Parts. He took pride in his work and enjoyed helping others.
Bob's greatest enjoyment and hobby was watching the races at the Clarksville Speedway. Whether it was car races, four-wheelers, or dirt bikes, he loved hearing the engines roar and feeling the thrill of the competition. The excitement of race day always brought a spark to his eyes. Bob wasn't just a fan in the stands, he was also a proud sponsor and could often be found on the sidelines cheering on his grandson during his races. Being there to support him made the experience even more special, combining his love of racing with his love for family.
Above all, Bob was a devoted family man. He loved his family dearly and treasured the time spent together. Sharing stories, laughter, and special moments with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him immense joy and were among his most cherished blessings.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, David Petty; and his sister, Carolyn Jean Scott.
Bob leaves behind his cherished family: his sons, Michael Nardell and Gerald Nardell; his daughters, Lesia Chandler and Tammy Petty; his brother, Jerry Nardell; his grandchildren, Gina Jennette, Chris Petty, Joshua Stuard, Rachel DeFrancesco, and Mikey Nardell; and his great-grandchildren, Emma Hendrickson, Annaleigh, Hunter, Conner DeFrancesco, Sawyer Petty, Ryalynn and Rylker Nardell, and Ravyn Bloom Nardell.
A visitation will be held at Anglin Funeral Home on Saturday, February 28, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and continuing until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Petty, Josh Stuard, Gina Jennette, Jasen Ussery, and Joe Hamm.
The family wishes to extend a special Thank you to Tennessee Oncology in Clarksville, TN for their love and care to Bob.
