WILLIAMSPORT - Ellen E. Brownlee, 94, passed away Saturday, December 13th at The Williamsport Home. Born June 10,1931 in Oval, PA, she was a daughter of the late Thomas E. and Helen C. Eck. Ellen was a 1949 graduate of Jersey Shore Area High School. She took great pride in her family and home. She was employed for many years as a front desk receptionist at the YWCA and volunteered in the medical records office of The Williamsport Home.
Ellen was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in this city. Her husband, Harry E. Brownlee predeceased her in August 1985. She is survived by five sons, Gary T. (Roberta) of Brevard, NC, Michael S. (Cynthia) of Pittsburgh and Williamsport, Eric J. (Mayuree) of Reno, NV, Thomas E. Of Reading, Robert M. (Joy), of Madison, NJ, a daughter, Beth B. (Michael) Rowe of Apollo, a son-in-law, Jay Panzarella of Berthoud, CO, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two sisters-in-law, Janet Eck of Oval and Carol Eck of Jersey Shore.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ellen was predeceased by her daughter, Karen M. Brownlee-Panzarella, daughter-in-law, Joan Brownlee, grandson, Brendan D. Brownlee, sisters and brothers-in-law, Jeanne and Robert Lehman, Margaret and Arthur Searer, Marie and Glenn Lehman, and her two brothers, Thomas and Daniel Eck.
Friends may call at Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 W 4th Street 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2025. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 5973 Jacks Hollow Road 12:00 (noon) Friday, December 19, 2025. Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Mt. Carmel Cemetery section.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, Lycoming Animal Protection Society, Lycoming County SPCA, YWCA, or The Williamsport Home.
