Ellen Raye Carroll, 74, of Hope Mills, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025.
Born May 16, 1951, in Robeson County, Ellen was the daughter of the late John Thomas Hilburn and Ethel Jane Hodge Hilburn. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Carroll; three sisters, Alice Faye Caulder, Mary Lee Hill, and Shirley Ann Bunnell; and four brothers, James Curtis Hilburn, Franklin Hilburn, O' Neil Hilburn, and Jimmy Wayne Hilburn.
Ellen is survived by her two sons, Bernard Carroll, Jr. and wife Ginger of Bagdad, KY and George William Carroll and wife Pam of Siler City, NC; four grandchildren, Krystal Nicole Jones, Christopher Bernard Carroll, Victoria Lynn Rakes, and Zachary Mitchell Carroll; step granddaughter, Amanda Nicole Miller; four great grandchildren, Sophia Danielle Ritter, Atlys William Hoyt Miller, Emelyn Rose Carroll, and Rhett Thomas Rakes; and a host of other family and friends.
Ellen will be greatly missed and forever cherished by everyone who knew and loved her.
