In Loving Memory of Brenda Elaine Carroll
1951 - 2025
Brenda Carroll, 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Yuma, Arizona, on November 24, 2025. She was born on August 16, 1951, in Altus, Oklahoma, to William and Mary Scalf.
Brenda worked for many years as a retail associate, where she formed lifelong friendships and was known for her warmth, dedication, and genuine compassion.
Brenda and her husband, Ricky, shared a lifelong love for camping and treasured the years they spent together on the ranch. It was there that they built a home rooted in love, family, and tradition. Among Brenda’s most cherished memories were the Fourth of July celebrations—nights illuminated by fireworks, filled with laughter, and surrounded by those she held dear.
Family was always the heartbeat of Brenda’s life. She embraced every holiday with joy, but Christmas carried a special magic for her. With boundless love and care, she created traditions that transformed the season into something truly unforgettable for her children and grandchildren. The warmth, wonder, and love she poured into those moments will continue to shine brightly, leaving memories that will be treasured for generations.
After leaving the ranch, Brenda and Ricky made their home in Saginaw, Texas, where they continued to nurture the life, they had lovingly built together. In time, Ricky’s passing marked a profound loss, one Brenda carried with remarkable grace and strength. Later, she moved to Yuma, Arizona, bringing with her the enduring spirit of resilience and love that had defined their journey.
Brenda is survived by her children: Richard (Melissa) Carroll III, Vickie Cranson, Harvey (Debra) Carroll, Franklin Carroll, and Andrea (Steven) Garrett; her 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Her brother, Lynn Scalf; her sister-in-law, Jeanne Wright; her brother-in-law, Bruce (Mary) Carroll, and her mother-in-law, Dotti Carroll.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Scalf; her beloved husband of 43 years, Richard “Ricky” Carroll Jr.; her daughter, Melissa Cranson; her sister-in-law, Kathy Scalf; her father- and mother-in-law, Richard Carroll Sr. and Vanita Carroll; her brother-in-law, Tommy Wright; and her nephew, Terry Wright.
Brenda’s kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends will always be remembered. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Roberts-Martinez Funeral Home, beginning at 9:00 AM for public visitation, with a funeral service at 10:00 AM. Committal Service will take place at Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:30 PM.
