Ellen McIntosh Cobos

Ellen McIntosh Cobos, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on May 15, 1941, in Atlanta, Georgia, Ellen was the cherished daughter of George and Hester McIntosh. She filled her life with love, creativity, and a deep appreciation for her Scottish heritage.

Ellen was known for her warmth and kindness, qualities that left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her passion for the arts shone brightly throughout her life; she was a talented artist, with a particular love for ceramics. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Ellen possessed a beautiful singing voice that resonated with many. She was a proud member of the Michael O'Neal Singers, where she shared her love of music with fellow enthusiasts.

As a designated birthday cake baker for family and friends, Ellen spread joy through her delightful confections, embodying the essence of celebration in every bite. Her love for chocolate was legendary, with many fondly remembering her sweet tooth and the joy it brought to her life.

Ellen's commitment to nurturing and teaching was evident in her five years as an educator at the Atlanta Adventist Academy, where she inspired countless students with her knowledge and passion for learning. Her legacy as a caring educator lives on in the hearts of her former students.

Ellen is preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Hester McIntosh, and her sister, Madelyn Peker. She is survived by her two devoted sons, Karl Cobos and Paul Cobos, and her cherished grandchild, Zachary Cobos, who will carry forward her legacy of love and creativity. Ellen also leaves behind her sister, Karen Bundy, with whom she shared countless memories and a bond that was unbreakable.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel and interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
