Ellen Marie Grove

The staff of Heishman Funeral Home/Valley Funeral Service sends condolences to the family of Ms. Ellen Marie Grove.

Ellen Marie Grove, 59, of Mt. Jackson, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 25 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg. Pastor Dottie Holden will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 24 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Grove was born October 19, 1966 in Shenandoah County, daughter of Linda Faye Jodan Heishman of Mt. Jackson and the late Howard Truman Violett. She is also the stepdaughter of Carl Douglas Heishman of Mt. Jackson. She was a 1986 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School and attended First Assembly Church of God in Strasburg. She was a homemaker, wife and loving mother.

Surviving, along with her mom and stepfather are her husband, Dale Bradley Grove of Mt. Jackson; son, Shawn Michael Grove and wife Brittney of Mt. Jackson; sister, Melinda Cox and husband Paul of Mt. Jackson; two brothers, John Violett of Mt. Jackson and Scott Heishman and wife Delta of Mt. Jackson; three grandchildren, Tyler, Kaden, and Dillon Grove; two half-sisters, Beverly Violett of Maurertown and April Violet of Canada. She was also preceded in death by sister-in-law, Denise Violett and half-brother, Howard Violett.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Grove, Buck Grove, Paul Cox, Tanner Violett, Joshus Stottlemyer, Charles Lansberry, Angelo Hernandez, Alejandro Angel, Hector Angel and Chase Elswick.
