Ellen M. "Dody" Henry, nee O'Brien, age 97, lifelong resident of Chicago, passed away Oct. 13, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Thomas C. "Duke" for 52 years. Loving mother of Linda (the late William) O'Brien, Jack Ret. CPD (the late Eileen) Henry, Ellen (Marty) Burke, Mary Henry and the late Thomas J. (Mary) Henry, the late Kathy (Bill, Ret. CPD) Cordes and the late Joseph (Helen) Henry; cherished Gram/Nana of Jack, Jenny (Dave), Katie, Kevin (Michaela), Kristy, Lori (Fidel), Danny, Bridget, Kathryn, Mariellen, Maggie, Brendan, Aidan, Devin, Courtney, Colin, Charlie and Mary Casey; dear sister of Marge (the late Jack) Gill and the late Jack (the late Patricia) O'Connor, the late Fr. Joseph O'Brien O.M.I., and the late Thomas (the late Patricia) O'Brien and sister in law of the late Mary "Sissy" (the late Joe) Farrell and the late John (Mary Ann) Henry.
Dody was a lifelong parishioner of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and Charter Member of The Original Golden Girls. Dody will be greatly missed and remembered always.
Visitation Wednesday, October 18th, 9:00 a.m. until time of chapel prayers at 10:15 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, corner of Lowe and 45th St., Chicago at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gabriel Catholic Church.
