Ellen Howells

Ellen Howells, nee Morris, 88, of Nanticoke and Allentown PA, joined her beloved Benjamin F. Howells Jr. on August 10, 2023.
Ellen was born February 28, 1935 in Nanticoke, PA, the youngest of eight children born to Mary and Alex Morris. She married Benjamin F Howells Jr, also of Nanticoke, on November 2nd, 1957, and moved shortly thereafter to Emmaus, then Allentown, PA. Ellen had three children, Allen, Leslie, and Sarah, and lived in Alton Park from 1965 until 2021. While waitressing in Allentown, she attended realty school, obtaining her license then practicing for many years. Ellen was a creative force, intelligent, empathetic, playful, generous, full of joy, and curious until the end. She was the consummate entertainer, and took great pride in fusing her remarkable cooking skills with her creativity in events. She created magnificent floral displays, often contributing them to the events of loved ones. She loved decorating, was an accomplished seamstress, and was delighted to gold-leaf any surface she could. She was a snappy dresser, loved copper, and collected beveled glass. She was politically outspoken, and kept herself informed on current events.
Ellen is survived by her three children: Allen, Leslie, and Sarah, four grandchildren: Sydney, Ryley, Aidan, and Frances, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and dear friends who will miss her very much.
