Ellen Kaplan

Ellen Kaplan, nee Chensky, age 94, loved, adored and married to Sol Kaplan for 76 years; loving mother of Larry (Mariette) Kaplan, Leslie Holz, and Steven (Jill) Kaplan; adored grandmother of Garrett Kaplan, Chelsea (Mike Perez) Kaplan, Morgan Kaplan, Bryce Kaplan, Ryan (Stephanie) Holz, Marnie Holz, Evan Kaplan, Paige (Alex) Randolph, and Courtney (Richie Woodham) Kaplan; proud great grandmother of Maddy, Emily, and Allie; devoted daughter of the late Reuben and the late Lena Chensky; cherished sister of Lois Platt and the late Florence Chensky and the late Bert (late Harriet) Chensky; treasured aunt and friend of many.

Ellen was a resident of Northbrook for 40 years and raised her family in Lincolnwood. She was the pillar of strength for our family. Ellen was a beauty, both inside and out. She met Sol when she was just 14 years old when they shared a geometry desk at Marshall High School. Romance soon followed. They were Marshall High School's Turnabout King and Queen, and married on Ellen's 18th birthday, January 16, 1949, at the Shoreland Hotel in Chicago. She will be so dearly missed.

Service Tuesday, 12 Noon CT at The Chapel, 8851 Skokie Blvd, Skokie (at Niles Center Rd.). Ellen's service will be livestreamed on her website at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com.
