Ellen Lea Krause

Ellen Lea Krause of Morton Grove was born on August 30, 1939 to Madelene (Cafferata) and Otto Krause who preceded her in death. She grew up in Chicago. Ellen graduated from Alvernia High School in 1957. She received her teaching degree from Chicago Teacher's College in 1962, beginning her impactful career with Chicago Public Schools. Throughout the years she furthered her education receiving her Master's of Arts in 1970 from Northeastern Illinois and her certificate of Principal in 1988. After 38 years of service, Ellen retired from Chicago Public Schools in 2000 as the Assistant Principal for Von Humboldt Elementary. Throughout her life, Ellen was an avid traveler having visited all 7 continents and countless countries. The highlight of her travels was walking among the penguins in Antarctica. For 55 years, Ellen was a friend of Bill W. Ellen was supported throughout her life by Mary (Michael) Doucette, Lenora Powell, Barbara Kay (David) Santrella, Deborah (John) Ranieri, Rebecca (Guy) Crimaldi, Paula Jean (Mark) McCants, Peter Doucette, Ashley (Rusty) Cavanaugh, Michael (Josh Lang) Doucette, Tre Cavanaugh, cousins and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October, 24th, 9:00 am at St. Norbert and Our Lady of the Brook Parish followed by mass at 10:00 am.
