Ellen Ann McComb

Ellen Ann McComb, 83, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025. Born on March 20, 1942, in Odell, Nebraska, Ellen was the daughter of Theodore and Mildred KrugerA graduate of Ohio State University, Ellen began her career as a junior high math teacher, worked several years at Ohio State, and her path eventually led her to Kenyon College, where she retired. In her retirement, Ellen volunteered at the Knox County Dog Shelter and the Knox County Humane Society.

Ellen is survived by her children Kara McComb and Thomas A. McComb, both of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and her sister Mary Ann Kruger of Tucson, Arizona. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas H. McComb, and brother Robert Kruger.

Friends may call at the Johnson-Melick-Moreland Funeral Home, 49 W. Church Street, Centerburg, Friday 12 noon-1:30 p.m. followed by a service at 1:30 p.m.. Interment Brandon Cemetery.
