Ellen Nye

Ellen Willard Nye, age 85, left this life early Monday morning, September 9, 2024. She was born in Ogden, Utah on October 5, 1938 to Jesse James Willard and Marjorie Ellen Steele.
She graduated from Ogden High School in 1956 and immediately, thereafter, started a family. She retired from Hill Air Force Base after serving in a variety of positions. Upon retirement, she served as a volunteer for 9 years at Davis Hospital. She took many art classes at Weber State and painted prolifically and beautifully for many years until macular degeneration robbed her of her vision. She enjoyed gardening and grew some spectacular roses along with strawberries and tomatoes.
Ellen is survived by her children, Trina Whiting of West Haven, Utah; Cheri Morgan of Russellville, Missouri; and Ted Brewer of Layton, Utah. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Brewer. She had 7 grandchildren, Erin, Ellen, Tucker, Richard, Tabitha, Jesse and Teddy. She had 2 great-grandchildren Hayleigh and Stormy, and 5 great-great-grandchildren Ronnie, Lilah, Myles, Serenity and Kinsley.
Her children will forever miss her quiet and strong presence. We haven't always made it easy on her.
Services will be held on Monday at Leavitt's Mortuary in Ogden at 2:00 p.m. preceded by a family viewing time at 1:00. Interment to follow service Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
