Ellen Louise Pellouchoud, 77, of Deltona, Florida, passed away on August 12, 2025, in Orange City, Florida. She was born on March 6, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois, to Glen and Louise (Tolosano) Schatte.
Ellen's love for animals shaped her life and career. She worked for many years as a veterinary assistant before becoming a dog groomer. She was devoted to her pets, especially the greyhounds she rescued, and was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about dogs and cats.
Above all, Ellen was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family will always remember how she made everyone feel special. She had a wonderful sense of humor and found joy in making others laugh. Ellen lived an honest and dignified life, and all who knew her are better for having shared in it. She especially enjoyed the company of her dear friends John and Sandy O'Brian, along with the rest of her close circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Pellouchoud, and her parents, Glen and Louise Schatte.
Ellen is survived by her son, Gerald McMahon; her grandchildren, Nicole McMahon, Ryan McMahon, and Maddison (Nick) O'Neil; and her brothers, Dan and John Schatte.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Lohman Funeral Home – Deltona on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 a.m.
