Robert Samuel Colby

Robert Samuel Colby, 91, of Palm Coast Florida, passed away October 15, 2025 to be
with his Lord and Savior. He was born January 2nd 1934 in Milan, Michigan to Lois and
Sidney Colby. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, sister Rosetta and
brother Donald, his wife, Jean Colby, his 2 nd daughter, Diane and her son and only child,
Derrick. He is survived by his 1 st born child, Connie Colby of Richardson, Texas and
three step children, Luanne Brooks Spurway, Lee Brooks and Kelly Brooks and
numerous relatives, neighbors and friends.
Bob loved being outdoors, walking, riding his bike, exercising, gardening, going out to
eat, especially at Applebees, attending church services and reminiscing about life on
the farm in Michigan where he grew up. He enjoyed "tinkering", working on model
planes and restoring his 1964/65 Mustangs. He was born an animal lover: his horses,
dogs and his birds. He spoiled them all. He loved music, especially classic country
music, the Grand Ole Opry, Hee Haw, Tammy Wynette and Patsy Cline.
He was born and raised a hard -working country/farm boy and his life reflected his
dedication, loyalty and strong work ethic.
He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper and loved to share his
stories. After his service, he worked until he retired from Bell Telephone Company. He
spent his retirement years with Jean in Florida where they both enjoyed the sunshine
and warm climate.
He will be missed by all those who loved him. May you rest in peace Dad.
