Ellen Marie Ringdahl

Ellen Marie Ringdahl, 67, Michigan, ND, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND, surrounded by her loving family.

Ellen was born on May 17, 1958 to Donald and Janette (Anderson) Hamre in McVille, ND. She grew up in Michigan, ND and graduated from Michigan High School. She attended Josef’s School of Hair Design in Fargo, ND and began working at a salon in McVille. It was at this time she met Paul Ringdahl. Ellen and Paul were married on August 8, 1981 at Michigan Lutheran Church. They lived in Grand Forks for a short time before returning to Michigan. Ellen worked various jobs in Michigan, including the café and running a home daycare.

Ellen enjoyed playing cards, dancing and attending family sporting events. She loved working in the yard, gardening, crafting, baking, and was always up for a good rummage sale. She was active in the Michigan Lutheran Church, volunteering her time as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher. She also volunteered at the blood bank. Spending time with family was most important to Ellen. She especially loved planning family reunions.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Paul; 3 sisters, Colleen (Roger) Waltz, Vicki (Pete) Basley, and Denise (Mason) Guilbault; 1 brother, Joe (Susan Stein) Hamre; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at Michigan Lutheran Church, Michigan, ND, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Burial will be held at the Michigan Cemetery, following the service.
