Ellen Susanna Keller, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on September 17, 2024. “Susie,” as she was known by friends and family, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 12, 1940, to Remmert “Doc” Wunker and Helen Vogel. Susie grew up in Mason, Ohio and was a graduate of Lebanon High School. Susie attended Miami University of Ohio, and the University of New Mexico studying music and English. Susie married her childhood sweetheart, James Keller, on June 18, 1960. Susie and Jim left Ohio in 1965 and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico for thirteen years, eventually ending up in the Denver, Colorado metro area, where they remained, raising 4 children.
Susie was a wonderful musician and played the piano, organ, recorders, and the autoharp, loved to sing and was a choir director for many years. Another of Susie’s passions was Community Bible Study, where she was known as “Susanna,” and she served in several leadership roles with CBS for more than 40 years. Susie loved to memorize scripture.
Susie is survived by her beloved husband, Jim, their daughter, Karen Osborn (Matt) of Parker, CO, their sons Chris (Julie) of Black Forest, Colorado, Todd (Korina) of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Jared (Natalie) of Colorado Springs, Colorado. 12 grandchildren, Liesl Osborn, Melissa (Isaac) Neal, Bethany (Ben) Cochran, Joshua Keller, Kaylor (Ashley) Osborn, Nathaniel (Ana) Keller, Gabriel (Makenzie) Keller, Kiersten Keller, Lillie (Ethan) Johnson, Abbey Keller, Shasteen Osborn, and William Keller, as well as 7 great-children, Elisabeth, Kelson, Jesse, Emmett, Isabeau, Ari and Hudson. Susie also leaves a sister-in-law, Nancy Wunker, two nephews, Barry and Mark Wunker, a niece, Karlen Zamora, and their children.
A Celebration of Life service will be held for Susie at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. followed by a luncheon at the church. There will be a private family graveside service following the luncheon at the JS Parker Cemetery in Parker, Colorado.
Susanna loved flowers, so if you would like to send flowers for the memorial service, they may be sent to Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church at 10150 E Belleview, Greenwood Village, CO 80111, or if you prefer, donations in Susanna’s memory may be made to Community Bible Study, CCPC Christmas Choir Mission Outreach, The Gideons International, The Alzheimer's Association, or Breast Cancer Research Foundation.,
