Ellen L. Toth, beloved wife of the late Louis J. Toth, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, at the age of 100. She was born in Norwalk on December 31, 1925, to the late Victor and Esther (Lund) Broadhurst.
In addition to raising her four children, Ellen spent countless years as a childcare provider in her home. Many of these children kept in touch with her as they grew up. She loved to reap the rewards of working in her flower garden each spring and summer. Ellen was an avid writer who had many pen pals across the country.
Ellen is survived by her sons Paul Toth (Karen) and Daniel Toth (Cathy) and her daughter Linda Spero (Mark). She also leaves behind four cherished grandchildren: Kimberly Toth, Patricia Mendez (Giovanni), Louis A. Toth and Olivia Toth, as well as three great grandchildren: Ava Grabarz, Lily Grabarz and Justin Mendez. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Louis V. Toth and his wife Donna, as well as her brothers, Irving and George Broadhurst and her sister Shirley Slawson.
A visitation for Ellen will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave. Norwalk, CT. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday April 8, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave., Norwalk, CT.
