Elli Nelson, age 88, of Breese, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025, at HSHS St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese. She was born August 31, 1936, in Germany.

Elli is survived by her children, Michelle (Mark) Myers of Danville and Doug (Jane) Nelson of Breese; grandchildren, Michael Myers, Matthew Myers, Daniel (Kirsten) Nelson, and Kourtney Knolhoff; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Myah, Marley, Madelyn, Mason, Makinna, Maybree, Nolan, Reid, Averie, Hollie, and Sadie; and loving dog, Mickey.

Elli was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milford "Cotton" Nelson, whom she married November 15, 1957, in Germany and who died July 27, 1987; grandson-in-law, Travis Knolhoff; sisters; father-in-law and mother-in-law; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

A devoted homemaker, Elli dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for her family. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the gentle presence of someone who truly loved those around her. Elli found joy in birdwatching, gardening, and cheering on her favorite NASCAR drivers. She had a passion for travel and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her.

Above all, Elli treasured the time she spent with her family. Her bond with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was unbreakable, and she never missed a chance to be present for the milestones and everyday moments that made life meaningful.

Memorial Service will be Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese with Nate Paulin-Wieland officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home in Breese.

In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to Clinton County Humane Society or HSHS Home Care & Hospice and will be received at the visitation or by mail, Moss Funeral Home, 535 N 5 th St. Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
