Elmer "Lee" Parrish, 88, of Mt. Storm, WV, died on February 4, 2023, at West Penn Burn Unit in Pittsburgh, PA. Born on November 4, 1934, in Ajax, WV, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Lena Mae (Rohrbaugh) Parrish. He married Dora Hanlin Parrish on May 5, 1963, the love of his life, who predeceased him on April 3, 2015.
Lee worked hard and provided for his family in many ways. He worked at the Power Plant, at strip mines, and saw mills. He sold rocks and wood. He was always helping others in the community. He volunteered with the Mt. Storm Rescue Squad with Mom and was a member at Calvary Temple at Mt. Storm. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his children, Pastors Cheryl George and husband Harold of Petersburg, WV, Carroll Parrish and wife Jennifer of Mt. Storm, WV, and Carla Boutchyard and husband Mark of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren, Jessica Dove (Clifton), Daniel Gonzalez, Julia Gonzalez, Samuel Parrish (Lisa), Patrick Hinkle, Curt Kaminski (Kaitlyn Collette), Nicholas Parrish, Willow Cutter, Sam Leasure (Vicky) and Ella Boutchyard; 14 great grandchildren; siblings, Cobert and Mona Parrish of Mount Storm, WV, Alvin Parrish of Lahmansville, WV, Joe and Mary Parrish of Antioch, WV and John and Vici Parrish of Louisa, VA; Katherine Parrish of Jax Beach, FL, Pauline Moreland of Keyser, WV and Florence Welch of Elk Garden; a brother-in-law, Roy Hiser, of Cincinnati, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert "Robbie" Parrish, his brothers Robert, Forrest, and Kenneth, and his sister Mary.
Friends will be received, Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 12 noon to 2 PM at Calvary Temple, Rt. 50, Mt. Storm. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM at the church with Pastor Gloria Georg officiating. Interment will follow in the Kalbaugh Cemetery.
