Elmer Sanchez Obituary

Elmer was born in Clayton, New Mexico on August 29, 1930, the son of Henry and Anita (Archuleta) Sanchez.
Elmer attended Clayton Public School, Clayton, New Mexico.
After high school Elmer worked in the Track Dept. for Union Pacific Railroad in New Mexico. He then moved to Junction City, KS. and became a chef. Work took him to Colorado Springs and later to McPherson, KS. After many years as a chef, Elmer went to work as a painter for Kit Mfg. and remained there until his retirement.
He is survived by his children, Anita Sanchez of Junction City, KS: Ruth Ann Egelhoff of Mississippi and Pam Johnson of McPherson, KS; three grandchildren, Nicole Egelhoff, Kody Egelhoff and Kyle Egelhoff; great-grandchildren, Kolden Egelhoff, Kelson Egelhoff and Kaid Egelhoff; Daphne and Aria Egelhoff; Brynn Egelhoff, and niece, Patty Johnson of McPherson, KS.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Rita Sanchez Robinson, Pat Sanchez Sitton and Drusila Sanchez Duncan.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Chapel in McPherson.
Memorials are to Freemount Lutheran Church and they can be sent to Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Funeral Home; 222 W. Euclid St., McPherson, KS. 67460.
Private burial will be held at Empire Cemetery.
