Elmetta Mae Willis, age 95, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away peacefully in Four Seasons, Missouri, on August 31, 2025.

Born on May 18, 1930, Elmetta was one of seven children. She married Grover Willis in 1949, and together they built a life rooted in love, resilience, and family.

She had a lifelong love of staying active and well, caring for her family and home, and being socially and mentally engaged-with opinions as sharp as her wit.

Elmetta is survived by her daughter Sandra Jehle (husband Richard) of Frisco, Texas, and her son Michael Willis (wife Amanda) of Four Seasons, Missouri, along with her grandchildren Kristen and Stacia, who all cherished her deeply.

She was preceded in death by husband Grover Willis, parents Nora Ethna Southerland Smith and Edward Jefferson Smith, and siblings Evelyn Helton, Emma Ray, Edward Smith, Celia Ella Smith, Earline Robertson, and Ethna Marie Wolpers.

In her final days, she remained fiercely independent in spirit, asking for nothing more than comfort, peace, and to say goodbye in her own way. Though heartbroken, her family is grateful for the full and beautiful life they were able to share with her.

Per her wishes, no public service will be held. Instead, her children and grandchildren will carry her memory in their hearts and continue her legacy.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes, 514 Highway 42, Osage Beach, MO 65065 (573) 348-3232. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.hedgesscottmillard.com.
