Elmyra Elizabeth Roberts

Elmyra Elizabeth Roberts, 96, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 in a local care center.
Mrs. Roberts was born in Providence, Florida and moved to Jacksonville after marrying her husband of 41 years, Charlie Roberts, who preceded her in death in 1988. She was a charter member of Heavenly Heights Baptist Church and current member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Roberts worked for over 35 years as a beautician and loved gardening, cooking, spending time with her family and church.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents: Carl McDonald Smith and Lena Estell Newsom Smith; son: Kenneth Roberts; grandson: Steve Roberts; 4 brothers: Wilbur Carl Smith, Johnny Francis Smith, Marril Weeks Smith and Sammie Maniuse Smith and a sister: Mary Nell Smith. Survivors include her children: Donald Roberts (Barbara), June Carter (Kenny) and Jimmy "J.D." Roberts (Tammy); daughter-in-law: Linda Roberts; sister: Glenda Smith; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 in the Event Center at Peeples, 14165 N. Main Street (Building C) with Pastor Joshua Paynter and Pastor Jordan Messer officiating.
Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
