Elnora A. Girton

Elnora Ann (Walters) Girton, 83, of Culver, IN (formerly of Monterey, IN) passed away at 7:02 AM Monday, August 11, 2025 at Miller's Merry Manor in Culver. She was born on October 28, 1941 in Winamac, IN. Elnora was one of fourteen children born to Earl Ivan and Clara Viola (Gilsinger) Walters who made their home in the Monterey/Culver area. She proudly graduated from Monterey High School with the class of 1960. The following year, she married and subsequently had three children, whom she raised mostly on her own. Elnora always worked hard to make sure her children had a good life. She was employed for many years at Eaton's in Winamac and had also worked as a phone operator prior to that. She loved adventure and moved to Arizona in 2005, then to Texas in late 2008 where she lived with Lisa's family until 2018. In 2018, Elnora moved back to Indiana to live with her son Tom and family to enjoy her golden years. She was diagnosed with dementia in her mid to late 60's. She was always taking notes to help her remember the simplest things until she could no longer do that.
