Elodia Narváez Flores passed peacefully at home on August 26, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. It is with the upmost sorrow that the Flores Family announces the passing of their matriarch Elodia Flores. She was 91. June 4, 1934-August 26, 2025. Elodia was predeceased by her parents, Rebecca R. and Francisco L. Narváez, siblings Frank Narváez Jr, Carmen Acuña, Sally Johnson, Joe Narváez and Manuela Galvan, Husband Adan G Flores, granddaughters Vanessa Flores and Melissa Flores, great-grandson Jose Flores, and son-in-law Ramon Orona Jr. Elodia is survived by her beloved children, Diana Orona (Ramon+), Adan Flores Jr. (Linda), Bobby Flores (Rebecca), David Flores (Julie), Daniel Flores (Dorota), Stevan Flores (David), and Jeannie Flores-Espinoza (JoJo) and, 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and siblings Manuel (Francis) Narváez and Lupe (Emiko+) Narváez. "A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts." - Washington Irving Elodia was first and foremost, a mother. She embodied love and devotion to the children she birthed and those who needed love along the way. She had a passion for life, and the joys that come with bringing people together, whether it was her 7 children around a stack of her homemade Texas shaped tortillas, her grandchildren around her Lotería set, her Bingeras on Sunday afternoons, or the crowd that gathered to celebrate and dance to Bobby Pulido on her birthday. At the end, her home was filled with the people who loved her, drawn together to say farewell and give thanks for her strength, passion, and love. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at The Salazar Building, 200 E. Richard, Kingsville, Texas, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church with Father Alfredo Villarreal officiating. Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery. Pallbearers are Kristopher Orona, Adam Flores, Matthew Flores, Aaron D. Flores, Alexis Flores, Jaedan I. Espinoza, Greysen Ramos, and Joseph Hayghe. Special thanks to Choice Hospice, Roxy Solis, Melissa Cortez, and Melissa Vángas for the excellent care in her last days.
