Eloise Stowe Glonek, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 4 PM in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Glonek was born on November 4, 1941 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late William Monroe Stowe Sr. and Velma Morris Stowe. She grew up in Hatteras, NC and attended Cape Hatteras School. It was during those years that she met the love of her life while he was serving in the US Navy at Buxton. They married and made their home on Hatteras Island. Eloise loved to see new places and enjoyed traveling all over the country with her family. Eloise and her husband owned a successful business for many years. She also loved her many jobs within the village. Following the footsteps of her mother, Eloise was a member of the Hatteras Island Chapter No 303 Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years where she served as a three time Worthy Matron and District Deputy. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother to many who will miss her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her parents William Monroe Stowe and Velma Morris Stowe; a brother, William (Bill) Monroe Stowe, Jr and three grandchildren, Angel Cartwright, Misty Cartwright and David Cartwright
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Arvon (Al) of the Blackjack Community; dauthers, Terry Cartwright(Glenn) of Hatteras; Dorothy Page(Dixon) of Blackjack; April Webster of Hatteras; son, Eddie Glonek(Aileen) of St Johns, Arizona; sisters, Natalie Swindell of Hatteras and Belle Hedrick(Michael) of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Matthew Cartwright(Melinda) of Hatteras, Krista King(Donnie) of Hatteras, Lauren Little, Tiffany Little and Christian Little of Blackjack, Jillian Webster(William Willis) of Hatteras and Laura Glonek of St. Johns, Arizona and eleven great-grandchildren.
