Thomas Robrecht Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilkerson Funeral Home and Crematory - Greenville from Mar. 3 to Mar. 5, 2026.
Thomas "Tom" Joseph Robrecht of Asheville, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. He was the youngest child of Charles H. Robrecht and Mary Claire M. Robrecht and grew up in Cleveland, OH, with his four older brothers. He was a graduate of Padua Franciscan High School in Parma, OH, and maintained friendships with a number of his fellow students and teachers throughout his life. He graduated from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, MO, with a degree in Business. He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.

After leaving Cleveland and settling in Asheville in the early 1980's, Tom worked for most of his career with Akzo Nobel and its later iterations, retiring from Colbond, Inc. as a Sales and Marketing Manager Special Projects. During a break from Akzo, Tom also served for six years as Marketing Director of Mountain Area Hospice, (now CarePartners Hospice) during its early years in Asheville.

A man of faith, Tom enjoyed many years as a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Mars Hill, NC, and St. Eugene Catholic Church in Asheville, NC. He always gave credit to Father Frank Reese, SJ, and Sister of Mercy Peggy Verstege for nurturing his relationship with the Church.

Tom will be remembered as a loving husband, a true gentleman, a loyal friend, and a man of integrity, faith, and kindness. His presence brought easy companionship, good cheer, humor, and his infectious laugh, all of which will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Beth" Moore Robrecht, his brother Robert "Rob" Frederick Robrecht (Carol) of Tucson, AZ, his brother Terence "Terry" Anthony Robrecht (Nancy) of Portland, OR, and many beloved nieces and nephews, and other loved ones from the Robrecht, Smith, and Delafield families.

Tom was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Charles Henry Robrecht, his brother, John Edward Robrecht, and his nephew, Christopher Robrecht.

A memorial service will be held at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 72 Culvern St., Asheville, NC, on March 20th at 2:00 PM followed by a reception at the Church. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 22, at 3:00 PM at the Heath Family Cemetery, Heath Swamp Road, Cove City, NC.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Padua Franciscan High School, Parma, OH, or Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity.
