Obituary for Eloise Long

On Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 5:05 pm, a heavenly angel descended from the heavens to carry our beloved Eloise Long home to Jesus. She was born on November 4th, 1944. She was raised in Pacolet, South Carolina by her parents, Willie Mae and Leroy Gist.

Eloise met her husband, Chris Long from Jonesville, SC in 1960 where they were married for 50 plus years. Eloise and Chris left South Carolina for Boston in 1961 to find better opportunities for their family, which included three daughters and one son. Alice Faye Gadsden of Lincoln, RI, Dolores Norris of Boston, MA and the late Christopher Long of Springfield, MA and Beverly Long of Decatur, GA.

Eloise worked for Brigham and Women's Hospital for over 42 years. starting at the Parkway Hospital in Brookline, Mass and later becoming Unit Coordinator for Brigham and Women's in Boston. She spent most of her career in healthcare, which she enjoyed immensely.

She leaves behind two daughters Faye and Dolores, her sister Thelma Gist, two grandchildren, Jacorey Gadsden and Christina Long and a host of friends and loved ones. Predeceased by her husband Chris, her parents Leroy and Willie Mae Gist and her son Christopher Long and daughter Beverly Long.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Tuesday December 16th 10-11 AM in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11 AM in the Funeral Home.

Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.
