Eloise Elizabeth Taylor, 49, of Kenansville, North Carolina, passed away on September 23, 2025. She has gone on from this life to her eternal home, where she longed to be with those who passed before her and her heavenly father.
Born in Kenansville, Eloise was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Houston; father, Clyde Wesley Taylor; and uncle, Jimmy Taylor. She is survived by her devoted caretakers, nephew Braxton Taylor and his wife, Kari, of Kenansville; her brothers, John Taylor of Beulaville and KC Blackburn and wife Tiffany of Clinton; nieces Raylyn Bauserman, Braylee Taylor, Makensie Blackburn, Emma Blackburn, and Aubree Blackburn; nephews Elijah Taylor, Kolson Taylor, and Waylon Blackburn; her cousin and very best friend, Theresa Gayle; her wonderful nurse of many years, Mrs. Sherron Murray; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.
Diagnosed with cerebral palsy, neuropathy, and a seizure disorder at a young age, Eloise never let her challenges define her. Despite the odds, she graduated from high school and went on to live a life filled with joy, resilience, and purpose. Though she was only supposed to live to be 30, Eloise overcame all obstacles, succeeded against all odds, achieved the improbable, defied expectations, and triumphed over the adversity others set for her. She taught us there is strength in vulnerability, the power of resilience, the importance of kindness, but above all else to stay true to oneself and never to accept the word impossible because all things can be done if you believe in yourself.
Eloise was known for her vibrant spirit, her quirky grin, and her unique sayings. These included: "Don't be a shit ass" and "You know I got a dorky way of doing things." She danced to the beat of her own drum. She taught those around her to celebrate life's victories, big and small. She embraced every day with love, laughter, and perseverance. Family and friends will forever treasure the late-night dance sessions and warm welcomes home-even if it was just a quick trip to the grocery store. They will remember the countless lessons she taught simply by being herself.
Funeral services will be held at Pink Hill Funeral Home on Friday, October 3, 2025, with visitation from 6:00–7:00 p.m., followed by the service. Burial will take place at Oakridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill on Saturday, October 4, at 11:00 a.m.
"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen nor touched, but are felt in the heart."- Helen Keller
Eloise will be deeply missed but forever remembered. Until we meet again in the presence of Jesus.
