Eloise Thomas Obituary

Visit the Ott & Lee Funeral Home, Inc. - Brandon website to view the full obituary.

Eloise H. Thomas, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at her home in Brandon, Mississippi, surrounded by her family.

Eloise was born April 29, 1935, in Houston, Mississippi, to Richmond and Myrtle Higginbotham. Growing up, she enjoyed singing “good ole gospel music” with her father and others. In April 1956, she was married to Roland “Snow” Thomas. Together, Eloise and Snow shared 62 years of marriage and had three daughters. She worked as a teller at First National Bank in Clarksdale, Mississippi, for 34 years. Following her retirement, she and Snow moved to Brandon in 2005. She loved the Lord and found her church home at Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, and she made many friends during her time there. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, and she was incredibly proud of all her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richmond and Myrtle Higginbotham; her husband of 62 years, Roland “Snow” Thomas; great granddaughter, Hope Stanford; and siblings, Etoyle Little, Herley Higginbotham, Shelby Rhodes, and Glen Higginbotham.

Eloise leaves behind her daughters, Linda Kittle (Owen), Gail Edwards (Joe), and Jennifer Parham (Scotty); grandchildren, Owen Kittle, II, Sarah Watson (Ryan), Virginia Stanford (Jamie), Tripp Edwards (Shelby), and Miranda Atkins (Stephen); great grandchildren, Reese, James, Avery, Blake, Elias, Peter, Steven, Drew, and Frazier; and a host of nieces and nephews. Her family will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Heather, Onetta, Kathy, and Robin at Baptist Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Thomas.

Visitation will be Friday, March 27, 2026, from 12:00 until 1:00 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
