Mr. Elroy DeShawn Sammons, age 54 of Harriman, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024, at the Turkey Creek Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
He worked at the Dialysis Clinic of Oak Ridge and Harriman as a dialysis technician for several years. He went to Oak Ridge High, which he always represented and received a associates degree from Roane State Community College in Accounting. He was the proud father of 3 beautiful children he never thought he would have. And was married to a wife he loved deeply for 32 years. He was also a proud and deeply loving big brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rebecca Sammons (Bridgeman) Father Leroy McCray. Sister Deidra Inman. Grandfather Earl Sammons and Aunt Alice Sammons.
Survivors include his wife Raeleah "Leah" Sammons. Children Tre', Devin and Maleah Sammons. Brothers Franklin "Sink" Sammons (Mary), Terry Sanders and Kevin Inman. Sister Sherry Sanders. Aunts Jackie Sammons, Sharon Arnett and Erlene Goins. Uncles Don Goins and Pernell Roberts. Niece Alissa Eddie. Nephews Tyreek Ray and Skyler Sammons. Cousins Donnell, Dyron and James Sammon. Bradley and Rodney Dawson. Starla Arnett (Angel) and Drena Arnett (Gilliam). Uncles: Howard (Pecola) Ewing, Ricky Cozart Aunt: Alma Cozart Cousins Melissa Blackmon and Nicole(Jesse) Rich.
As well as a host of other cousins, aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles.
The family will have a memorial service on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 2:00 pm ET at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood, TN, with Pastor Raymond Richardson Jr officiating. Cremation arrangements have been made and a private family interment will be held at a later date. Evans Mortuary is proudly serving the family of Mr. Elroy DeShawn Sammons.
