Elsa Cruz Coronado, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed peacefully at home in San Marcos, Texas on October 9, 2024, surrounded by her cherished family. Born on February 24, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas, Elsa lived a life full of love, laughter and unforgettable moments that touched everyone she encountered.
Known affectionately as "everybody's mom," Elsa was a warm and nurturing presence in the lives of her family and friends. She possessed a vibrant spirit that brought people together, often drawing them into light-hearted gatherings filled with joy. One of the cherished memories of her life includes the countless times she danced with her dear husband, Fidel, an experience that captivated onlookers and left a lasting impression on all who watched.
Elsa is survived by her loving sons John (Anna), Fidel (Yvette), Carlos, Daniel Coronado, and daughter Angela Coronado. She also leaves behind her adoring grandchildren: John Gabriel, Brianna Marie, Jacob Renee, Joseph Christopher, Joshua Joelle, Jayanthony Fidel, Sabrina Arielle, and Stefanie Miranda. Additionally, Elsa was blessed with three great-grandsons: Azazel Fidel, Azrael Rayden, and Raizel Cole.
She is preceded in death by her parents Joaquin and Juanita Cruz. Elsa is survived by her beloved sisters, Elva Maltos (Juan) and Evelyn McClallen (Frank), who along with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
A visitation honoring Elsa will take place on October 18, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels (South), located at 3520 South Flores Street, San Antonio, TX 78204. During the visitation, a Rosary Service will be held at 6:30 PM.
As we remember Elsa Cruz Coronado, let us celebrate the love she shared and the light she brought into the lives of those around her. Her legacy will live on through her family, who were her pride and joy.
