Elsa Knight Obituary
Born in Madisonville, Tennessee on January 31, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lon Bearden and the late Nora Brown Bearden. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grover Knight; her son, Jerry Wayne Knight; her daughter, Linda Hoffman; her older brothers, Woodrow, Reverend Lon Jr., and Robert; her sister, Ruby Lee; and her daughter-in-law, Debbie Geurin.
Elsa was the oldest member of Atco Baptist Church where she taught 3 generations of Sunday School classes for over 65 years. She loved everyone she ever encountered. Elsa enjoyed fishing with her husband Grover and her constant companion Lucy Knight.
Survivors include her grandchildren, John Ryan Knight, and Adam Lee Knight (Rene); her great grandchildren, Jason Cox, Rosalee Cox of Fort Cavazos, TX, Chloe Knight, Katelin Haney, Kipper Hoffman, and Hayden Parks of Rockmart, GA; and her great-great granddaughter, Adalynn Cox; and her son-in-law, Kipp Hoffman (Cindy).
A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Atco Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Boatfield officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family received friends from 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at Atco Baptist Church prior to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorial contributions in Elsa's honor to Atco Baptist Church, 20 Parmenter St., Cartersville, GA 30120.
