Elsa Lillian Noy

Elsa L. Noy, 92, of Chelmsford, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital.
She was the beloved wife of the late Rev. Robert Alan Noy, who passed away on January 13, 2022.
Born in Dunstable, MA, Elsa was the daughter of the late Sven and Anna (Johansson) Martinson. She graduated from Tewksbury High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Lowell State Teachers College.
A devoted educator, Elsa spent many years teaching in the Lexington Public Schools and later at the Immaculate Conception School in Lowell, from which she retired. Her love of learning and nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on countless students.
Faith was central to Elsa's life. She was a longtime member of Carlisle Congregational Church, where she shared her musical talents as the church organist for many years and was actively involved in the church community.
Elsa also found joy and friendship through her involvement with the Chelmsford Garden Club and the Chelmsford Arts Society. She had a deep appreciation for the arts, nature, and the beauty of the world around her-she loved painting, music, gardening, traveling, and spending time along the Maine seacoast.
She is survived by her loving daughters and their husbands, Bette and James Kacavas of Chelmsford and Laurie and John Fitzgerald of Capistrano Beach, CA; her sister Sonja Shine of Newbury, MA; her nephew Karl Martinson of Fitzwilliam, NH; five cherished grandchildren-Julie and Sarah Kacavas, Allison (and her husband Weston Nielsen), Ryan (and his wife Jessica Fitzgerald), and Samantha Fitzgerald; and one great-granddaughter, Nora Nielsen.
She was predeceased by her daughter Nancy Jane Noy and her brother Eric Martinson.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford for their devoted care and love for Elsa.
Funeral Notice Visiting hours for Elsa will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex Street, North Chelmsford, MA. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 AM in West Chelmsford Cemetery prior to the funeral service which will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Carlisle Congregational Church, 147 School Street, Carlisle, MA 01741.
