Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Elsie M Kimmel, 85, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at the Mission at Maple Springs with her family surrounding her. She was born on February 12, 1939 in Las Gallinas New Mexico, a daughter of Leopoldo and Barbarita Marquez Maestas. Elsie was reared and educated in Denver, Colorado. She married her sweetheart, Robert E. Kimmel on December 1, 1957 in Brighton, Colorado. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1999. Elsie was a member of Victory Worship Center in Brigham City and loved being part of the congregation. Elsie was the best mother, grandmother and her family will truly miss her. Her favorite past times were embroidery, coloring, cooking, taking walks, fishing, hunting. Elsie was an awesome deer and elk hunter. The family would like to thank Victory Worship Center, CNS Hospice, especially Fyre and Jessie for their love and compassion towards our mother. They would also like to thank Mission @ Maple Springs for their care also. Surviving are three children, Judy (Craig) Welk; Gail (Henoh) Dolezal; Gary (Jodi) Kimmel; five grandchildren, Rachel, Brenton, Austin, Courtney and Ethan and four great grandchildren, Remy, Melody, Kaito, Hina. She also survived by two sisters and three brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert and one sister. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 10:30 am at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 E 200 S., Brigham City, Utah.
