Elsie Parker Obituary
Elsie Betty Petro Parker, 97, of Sun, WV passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at her residence with her family by her side.
Born January 7, 1927 in Price Hill, WV she was the daughter of the late Toney and Vicie Bryant Petro.
Elsie was a homemaker, she was a loyal and faithful member of the First Assembly of God Church in Mount Hope, and her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, and sister.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Delbert Ray Parker, Sr. children, Peggy Meador, Jessie Parker (Helen) (Margie), Evelyn Forsythe, and triplets Melvin, Marvin, and Mervin Parker; brother, Amos; and sisters, Edith, Garnet, and Jenny.
Those left to cherish her wonderful memory include her loving children, Janice Wooddell (Jim), Judy Mendenall (JR), Debra Kincaid (Kenny), Goldie Parker Ellis (Bob), Delbert Ray Parker, Jr., and Neil Parker (Sharon); 25 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 15 great great grandchildren; and son in laws, Sam Meador and Frank Forsythe.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Frank Forsythe and Bryan Knight officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV.
Visitation for friends will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home in Oak Hill.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations of Sympathy be made to the Bowers Hospice House 454 Cranberry Drive Beckley WV, 25801 or St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude’s's Place Memphis TN, 38105
