Lambert Funeral Home & CrematoryElsie A. Schmidt, 91, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2025 at Mt. Carmel Rehab and Nursing Facility after a period of declining health. She was born in Manchester on October 6, 1934 to the late Joseph and Victoria (Janoz) Kosowicz.
Elsie graduated from Central High School and attended Hesser College. She worked many years as a financial assistant and helped her late husband, Raymond, develop and manage Schmidt Electric Company for four decades.
She was passionate about her family, especially her eight grandchildren and great-grandchild. She enjoyed and took pride in her home and cooking especially for the holidays.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Elsie is predeceased by her sister: Wanda Swist; and her grandson: Daniel Schmidt.
She is survived by her three children: Craig (Patricia) Schmidt of Sarasota, FL, Christine (Steven) Gerrish of Manchester, NH, Kelly (Kevin) Mee of Rutland, VT; seven grandchildren; great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Visitation will be held on Monday (10/27) at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St. in Manchester from 10am – 11am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 207 Hemlock St in Manchester at 11:30am. Committal prayers will immediately follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 207 Hemlock St., Manchester, NH 03104.
