Elva Keck Matthews, mother of Jack, Ron, and Gary, grandmother of 7, and great grandmother of 7, peacefully passed away on Monday, August 25.

Earlier this year at the Larsen Health Center of Shell Point Village, family and friends celebrated Elva's 100th birthday with food, fellowship, and lots of stories and humor!
Elva moved from Philadelphia to Ft. Myers 15 years ago, but continued being a devout fan of all Philly sports. Elva was a church organist and piano teacher until she went into memory care about three years ago. She never charged for her lessons and often included dinner and other gifts to her students, while receiving some compensation in the form of candy. Elva loved to laugh and it is appropriate to share that on her last day there was a traveling ukulele band and singer performing on her floor in the great room. When the band learned that Elva was in her room, they made a personal visit and performed for her literally as she took her last breath. Although Ron didn't think there was a direct link, Ron's older brother thought "it may have made her passing more attractive to her."
Meaningfully, Elva's passing was the same day as her deceased husband's birthday. The family is grateful that Elva's life was shaped by her Christian faith, love for her family, and dedication to her church.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life on Saturday August 30, 2025 at 2pm at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 405 Easton RD, Willow Grove, PA 19090 (www.calvary-wg.org/). There will be a time of gathering after the service.

Interment was private.
