Elvena Todd Gentry, 84, of Petersburg passed away Monday, August 26, 2024. She was born in Cannon County.
She is survived by her children, Bobby Teaney of Goodlettsville, Gary Teaney of Rockvale, Pam Goodson, Patricia (Bryce) Poteete of LaVergne, Ricky Gentry, Clay Gentry of Smyrna, Donna (Tim) Hill of Petersburg, and Sam Gentry of Lebanon; Grandchildren, Bucky McMurtry, Jeffrey, Hannah & Annie Gentry, Brian Gentry, Lindsey Gentry, Kristi & Alvin Deskins, Richard Gentry, Monica, Ashley, & Kristy Gentry and Barry & Amy Gentry; Brother, Cecil Todd; and many great grandchildren also survive.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alvin Gentry; Parents, Hassie Mae Mathis Todd & Lehman Todd; Sons, Allen Wade Gentry and Barry Ray Gentry; Grandsons, Charles David Gentry and Wayne Deskins; Sister, Lois Johnson; and aunt, Beatrice St. John.
A retired seamstress, Elvena loved to make bracelets and to color. She was a big fan of racing and Jeff Gordon.
Funeral Services will be 1 PM Saturday., August 31, 2024 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in the Centerhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for the visitation from 4 pm - 8 pm Friday, August 30, 2024.
