Elvie C. Holloway, a beloved member of the Kansas City community, left this world on June 10, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on August 15, 1933, Elvie dedicated her life to hard work and her family, establishing a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Elvie owned her own cleaning business for many years, embodying the values of diligence and dedication. She took great pride in her work, earning the respect of her clients and the admiration of her family. Her commitment to her profession was matched by her unwavering love for her family. Elvie reveled in meaningful traditions, particularly during the holidays, crafting delicious meals that brought her loved ones together at Thanksgiving and Christmas. These gatherings were not only a celebration of food but also a time to create memories that her family will treasure forever.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Elvie had a vibrant personality that radiated warmth and kindness. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always finding joy in her role within her family. Elvie's nurturing spirit extended beyond her home; she was known for her love of animals and for indulging in delightful sweets.
Elvie had a passion for travel, exploring destinations such as Las Vegas, Germany, New Mexico, and the cherished shores of Myrtle Beach. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, enjoying fishing, playing bingo, and attending horse races, activities that brought her happiness and fulfillment.
Elvie is preceded in death by her parents Frank & Elvie Norris; her loving husband Robert Holloway; son, Les Ellerman; brother, Jack Norris; sisters, Margaret Mollenbrink, and Frankie McCallum.
She is survived by her daughter Carol Cummings; sons, Robert (Sheri) Holloway; Richard (Maria) Holloway, and daughter Sherry Hannasch; 11 grandchildren; many great- grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.
Her life will be honored with services held at the Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery in Kansas City on June 16, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Elvie will then be laid to rest at East Slopes Cemetery in Riverside at 12:00 PM.
Elvie C. Holloway's legacy of hard work, love for family, and zest for life will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
