Plantsville Funeral HomeIt is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elvira “Bolly” Fernandes, who left this world peacefully on August 19, 2025, at the age of 89, surrounded by her family’s love.
Bolly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose presence filled every room with warmth. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Augustine, and her cherished son, Steven. She is survived by her brother, Edward Marinelli, children; Joseph, Dina, Edward and daughter-in-law, Deborah. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren, Joseph, Andrew, Jared, Brooklyn, Margaux, Dylan, Shea, and Bella and many nieces, cousins and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.
Known affectionately as Bolly, she was a woman of extraordinary kindness and generosity. She found great joy in caring for others, whether through her legendary cooking that brought family and friends together, or through the simple, selfless acts of love that defined her character. Her strong faith was the foundation of her life, guiding her in all that she did. Bolly was a Paraprofessional in the Southington School system and worked with special needs children for over 25 years before she retired and moved to Florida. Bolly’s memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, who will forever remember her laughter, her unwavering love, and the countless ways she made life sweeter. She will be missed beyond measure, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones in God’s embrace.
